Confidentiality
Careology is registered with the Information Commissioner as required by the Data
Protection Act 1998. Any patient registering with the Careology homecare service
is asked to give consent to hold their data.
Patient confidentiality is safeguarded through compliance with the following policies
and security systems:
- Data protection legislation
- Professional and ethical responsibilities of individual team members
- Alarm coverage and 24 hour site security
- Physical barriers through electronically controlled access to the Careology offices
- Separate network drives which are secured by user identification and are password
protected
- Data is backed up every day and stored off site
- Defined staff responsibilities in accordance with standard operating procedures within
our quality system
